This is a treat you can actually feel good about eating!
In the last few years, there have been a lot of diet ice creams introduced to the market. In that time, I tried my fare share of expensive portion controlled and "skinny" frozen treats. Discovering this recipe, I was astonished at how simple making healthy ice cream was. It is vegan, lactose intolerant, paleo, celiac, and weight watchers friendly. Simply, because it is made from just one ingredient, bananas.
Shockingly, it taste like delicious full fat ice cream. It has totally revolutionized my entire thought process on ice cream.
But how come no one knows about this?! Why is this such a big secret? Did the diary industry bribe the government to keep it from the public? Anyways, before CSIS and the FBA shut my site down, I highly recommend you try this recipe.
Directions
- Slice bananas as thin as you can, and put small portions (1-2 bananas into zip lock bags).
- Freeze bananas overnight.
- Put frozen portions into food processor.
- Process until creamy.
Enjoy!
Also, I just have to have to show off my new camera the Fuji X100. As mentioned in my previous street photography post, I am love with this camera's full manual shooting options. The picture of the spoon above was captured with the X100. Pretty amazing DOF for a point and shoot.
I discovered banana ice cream here.

Ever since I first tried this last year I have been addicted!!!!
P.S I just noticed you are in Nova Scotia! Fellow east coaster' here- New Brunswick. Went to University in Halifax though :)
I have the bananas in the freezer and I am going to make this tonight!
My mom use to dip bananas in chocolate and freeze them for us to eat. I always thought the bannana had the texture of real ice cream.
Wow!! Who knew?? My daughters are banana-tics :) They love them!! Disguised as ice cream, I bet they'd squeal with delight!
Did you mix strawberries into the one in the pic? If so, do other fruits mess with the texture?
Hi Amy, I didn't mix in strawberries in the pic above. However, since making the post I have added strawberries a few times, and it is delicious! As long as you don't go over the 50/50 ratio with other fruits it shouldn't effect the texture.
When I first heard of this I couldn't believe it was real. I tried it and it is a family favorite. My 9 years old daughter loves it because she loves to have it as a milkshake she can have for breakfast.
