Last May, I had an absolutely beautiful time photographing Kyle and Becky’s late Spring wedding at Juno Towers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The skies were overcast, but that didn’t put a damper on the occasion one bit! Everyone had an amazing time and I’m so glad I got to be a part of this wedding!
Kyle + Becky’s Juno Towers Wedding in Halifax
The bride, Becky, is originally from Dartmouth. She and I were introduced through her lovely aunt, who is a family friend.
Becky and Kyle wanted to have a wedding that reflected their own sense of style and personality. And boy oh boy did they have it! This had to have been one of the most fun AND funniest weddings I’ve ever photographed! Becky and Kyle were HILARIOUS! They had the wedding party in stitches the entire time and I’m surprised I was able to even hold the camera steady.
I loved when I got the opportunity to steal the wedding party away for good ol’ fashioned, impromptu photo session. We romped around downtown Dartmouth and Halifax with crew in tow and we loved every minute we had out on the waterfront. I loved the pictures I took down at the historical properties while Kyle, Becky and the rest of the wedding party goofed around and had a blast.
A large majority of the family and guests traveled from far and wide for this wedding just to celebrate in the port city of Halifax with this lovely couple. It was beautiful to see how many lives these sweet souls have touched.
You could really tell that each and every guest had something unique about their relationships both of them. It made for great energy throughout the entire ceremony and reception. There was just so much love in the air! But even that was just a small sampling of the love to come as the bride and groom started their new lives together as husband and wife.
Did I already mention these guys were funny? Kyle and Becky have a sense of humor that is rivaled by few. It’s the perfect balance of wit, charm and humility. And, I hope they don’t mind me saying this, but I almost felt like we’d been friends for years! I love when I get the chance to photograph wedding couples like that.
The reception was a wonderful time as well. The speeches, the dancing—it was all so on point. Having a bad time was a foreign concept to this crowd and the dance floor was on fire the entire night!
And of course, I had to pull Kyle and Becky outside for a few nighttime shots with just the two of them. It’s always good for the bride and groom to get away for a second during the reception. Just a moment to breathe and say, “Hey, we did this! All of our planning and hard work paid off! We’re married!” It’s a great opportunity to capture a few tender moments on camera.
All in all, I’d like to thank Becky and Kyle for allowing me to be the photographer for their wedding. I had an amazing time and I hope I was able to add to the happiness of their big day! Cheers, you two!
